Once known as the 'Riviera of the Orient,' Hong Kong's natural scenery inspired generations of artists. Trekking to rural areas without the modern convenience of subway, artists of yesteryear also contributed to the rise of local tourism with their unconventional perspectives on various sites. Mr. Mark R. Barnekow, Executive Director of the University of Chicago Francis and Rose Yuen Campus in Hong Kong, and Professor Josh Yiu, Director of CUHK Art Museum will show us incredible paintings of old Hong Kong from the 1940s to 1970s created by both renowned and forgotten artists. Join us to check out their instagram-worthy hideouts. |
